For larger assignments we have access to a range of additional staff through our network of associates. These associates range in their expertise but include expert witnesses and adjudicators.

All of our services are delivered on a ‘fixed price’ basis and therefore not subject to IR35, which would enable us to provide a cost effective solution, without risk of the extra fees being applied by Agency Factors / Umbrella or the rights that go along with classifying agency staff as employees. These will increase the costs of agency staff going forwards.

Change management & Administration

THE SERVICE

The cycle of submission, re-submission and rejection of Compensation Events can limit the efficiency of the commercial team.

Our service is based on the timely and comprehensive submissions of Compensation Event submissions. We endeavor to use your information to develop comprehensive entitlement, planning and quantum submissions. One of our KPI’s is to limit the number of re-submissions.

DELIVERY OF THE SERVICE

This service is delivered to your requirements, your timescales and with cost efficiency in mind. We will tailor the delivery of this service by listening and understanding your objectives.

Typically, we will price the delivery Compensation Events submissions into three categories;

Type A – Less research required to compile. Usually completed within 3 weeks

Type B – More complex. Usually completed in 3-6 weeks

Type C – Complex – can take 4 weeks+ to complete

We will agree the category of each Compensation Event and the required duration before commencing the works.

CONTRACT management & administration

THE SERVICE

Dependent upon the needs whether as support or as whole contract administration then the level and control can be tailored to the needs of the existing site team.

We would seek to complement and enhance the process so that we are efficient in the delivery of reports, evaluations, forecasts and budgets.

These services can vary from: –

• Production of cost value analysis (cost issued by the Client).
• Earned Value analysis – time remaining or resource driven analysis.
• Assessment of subcontractor applications.
• Management of Subcontract packages.

DELIVERY OF THE SERVICE

Based upon the initial discussion of requirements we would prepare a detailed scope of requirements. The service would be delivered against a defined brief and an agreed lump sum. Of course, like all of our services we remain flexible and will continue to adapt our services if your requirements change.

TRAINING

THE SERVICE

Marbal Associates Limited believe that training and continuous development as being a key component in the success not only of a project but the construction industry in general.

External training services can often be expensive and not specific to your requirements. For this reason, our training will be tailored to your project contract and is delivered in a manner that is engaging and interactive.

DELIVERY OF THE SERVICE

Our training sessions range in duration from 30 minutes to 1 hour. They are short, engaging and interactive. Our approach is to train by trying to get all participants to contribute.

We appreciate time is precious and therefore can deliver short bite-size sessions that can be delivered in 30 minutes.

Examples of training topics include;

• Key obligations and key dates stated in the contract.
• The Roles and Responsibilities of those named parties in the NEC.
• Early Warning Process and Procedure
• Compensation Events Process and Procedure
• Target Cost, Actual Cost and Disallowed Cost.
